Grodan Case Study
When the pandemic began we realised the importance of offering locally manufactured product and wanted to be able to offer Canadian made face masks to all our clients… so that’s what we did. Grodan is a Canadian company and when they reached out to us for our masks, we were happy to help. This quickly grew into a great relationship.
From there they asked what other Canadian made products we offered that could work for them. At the time, we weren’t sure what would be appropriate for them… so we did our research. We got online, researched the company, looked at social media and found out more about who they are. We quickly learnt this is a very unique company and we needed to create something unique for them. As a lot of their staffs’ time involved reaching into bushes and plants we wanted to offer them arm sleeves to protect their skin. The idea was proposed and they loved it, so we got to work. We had never done these before so we were starting from scratch, this was exciting but a head scratcher… where do we start?
At first we drew out our designs, talked through them with the client, tweaked and adjusted until we felt it was time to start making something. We started sampling this out, testing different material, measurements and lengths to see what would work best. Our prototypes were tried on by many different people with different arm builds to test the versatility of the sleeves. Samples were send to the client and they gave the go ahead.
Now that we had the sleeve sorted, next step was custom packaging. We discussed what information needed to go on the outer information card for the end user, material content, care instructions etc. Once we approved we were ready for manufacturing.
